Лезги-Ингилис гафалаг - М
Lezgian-English dictionary -
М
This is a preliminary version of the first ever web-based Lezgian-English dictionary. As for now,
most (but not all) of the entries are taken from the dictionary included in Martin Haspelmath's "A grammar of
Lezgian".
The abreviations in brackets [such as (abs), (erg) or (sbess)] inform which nouncase does a given verb need.
For instance, let's take the verb ава - (dat) has (abs). The notation means that the "possesor" is to be put in the dative, and "possesed"
in the absolutive case. Thus "I have money" is заз (I-dat) пул (money-abs) ава (verb comes last in Lezgian). You can learn
how
to form and when to use a given case form just by clicking on its abbreviation.
A short guide to Lezgian pronunciation, including principles of the latin transliteration used can be found here
